Hike the "Little Giants Trail"
You will enjoy a guided hike through the lush tropical rainforest Natural Biodiversity Reserve. This regenerating forest is an important habitat to both native and migratory animals. Along the hike, through the trees and creeks, you will have the opportunity to appreciate a large variety of ecosystems which live in unimaginable places, and learn about the importance and splendor of the nature that surrounds us.

The Frog Farm
Eight modules have been specially designed by our team of professionals. Here you will discover more than 30 species of diurnal and nocturnal frogs which live in the tropical forests of Costa Rica. The terrarium within the modules will allow you to see the fascinating glass frogs, rarely seen due to their size and the difficult Access into their habitats. We have recreated these habitats for your viewing pleasure. You will also admire one of the most eye-catching species of the tropics; the Red Eyed Tree Frog (Agalychnis callidryas). You will enjoy many other species including the Poison Dart Frog with its attractive coloring alerting of its danger and the largest frog in Costa Rica (Leptodactylus savagei), known as the Chicken-eating Frog.

Arenal Volcano Look Out
After we have been hiking a while, we will have the opportunity to rest and admire the amazing Arenal Volcano (weather permitting). This is a cone-shaped Stratus Volcano with an approximate height of 1,657 meters above sea level and is considered one of the most active volcanoes of the world, due to its constant lava flows and pyroclastic gas emissions. This once inactive volcano was known as Sweet Bread Hill, or Arenal Hill. All of that changed on July 29th, 1968 when the eruptions which continue today began.

Reptiles Lagoon
At the reptile lagoon, we can admire a great predator, the Crocodile Crocodylus acutus, one of the most feared reptiles in existence. The feared crocodile grows to over 5 meters long and its ferrous bite reaches 1750 kilograms of pressure. You will also find Cayman; abundant populations are found in local rivers, channels, lagoons, Eddies, and rocks, as well as in backwaters. This malicious animal, fattened and ready to eat meat, remains in utter silence, moving only their eyes, watching the movements of their potential prey, to strike at just the right time.

Turtle Pond
The little evolved turtles are also present in Arenal Natura, in a properly designed site so that these long-lived species can live as they do in their natural habitat. Here all of the turtles are freshwater turtles and tortoises; you can find species like Kinosternon leucostomum, red turtles - Rhinoclemmys pulcherrima and the large alligator turtle Chelydra serpentina.

Snake Exhibit
In this exhibit, we aim to show you some diverse and interesting species of snakes which are found throughout Costa Rica, by recreating their natural habitats in terrariums. The snake variety includes poisonous snakes, like the feared Fer de Lance Bothrops asper and large Boa constrictors, as well as a large variety of non-poisonous snakes and lizards.
In the Reptile Park, each visitor will have the benefit of a guide to provide you with pertinent biological, ecological, and conservation information. All of the information offered throughout the trip will be factual, allowing us to insure that each of our guests will leave with increased knowledge of these remarkable animals.

Heliconias Garden
The beauty of these plants, characterized by their large leaves and brilliant colored flowers, will accompany you throughout this beautiful garden. The bracts are the most spectacular part of the heliconia, generally in primary colors or combinations of them. You make also have the pleasure of spotting hummingbirds – pollinators of these exotic red, yellow, pink, and orange tropical plants.

Birdwatching
During your stay at Arenal Natura, you will observe a large quantity of birds flying freely through the trees and flowers of the forest. Keep your eyes and ears open and be prepared to enjoy the brilliant colors and melancholic songs. Don´t forget to bring your camera.
